Trek into the heart of rural Peru, where you’ll bring sustainable energy to remote communities, and witness firsthand the life-changing power of electricity and internet. We are now looking for volunteers for our upcoming Empowerment Expedition’s this Fall 2025!

Program Overview
Duration: 10 days
Location: Remote communities in the Peruvian Andes
Group Size: Maximum of 15 participants per trip
Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Lima, Introduction to LUTW
Day 2: Travel to remote project hub, briefing, and acclimatization
Day 3: Full-day Solar Training Workshop
Days 4-8: Travel to the community and complete 4 full days of solar PV installation
Day 9: Clean-up, community celebration, and return to project hub
Day 10: Return to Lima, Peru – End of Program
What’s Included?
All domestic travel costs (including domestic flights, ground transportation)
- Accommodations, meals, water (including camping materials)
- Solar PV system materials and equipment
- Hands-on training workshop with a technical manual
- 200 soles in spending money
- Gifts for the community
Optional add-ons:
- Guided Cusco & Machu Picchu tourism trip
- Tourism trip in Ayacucho/Huancavelica/Arequipa

- International flight to Peru
- Travel insurance
- Personal expenses (souvenirs, extended travel time)
Accommodations & Community Experience
During the installation days, volunteers will camp on-site in the community, fully immersing themselves in local culture. LUTW provides all camping equipment, meals, and logistical support to ensure a comfortable and rewarding experience.

No prior technical experience is required! Our expert trainers will guide you through every step of the process.
How to Register
Spots are limited! Each trip accepts only 15 participants.
- Fill out the Empowerment Expedition Information Request Form below. Once we receive this form, we will email you the pre-departure information. If you have any questions before then please reach out to us: lutw@lutw.org.
- The next step is to fill out the Registration Waiver:

Secure your spot with a $500 CAD deposit to lutw@lutw.org. Include your name and the trip name you would like to attend in the description of the e-transfer. We will send a confirmation email stating that your spot has been successfully reserved.

No! The program is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced professionals.
