Who We Are

Light Up The World (LUTW) is a Canadian registered charity committed to transforming lives through energy access. We bring solar power to remote, off-grid communities, replacing polluting fuel-based lighting and expensive single-use batteries with clean, reliable energy. By doing so, we empower people with the tools and technology they need to improve their daily lives, create new opportunities, and build a brighter future.

ENERGY = EDUCATION HEALTH DEVELOPMENT

LUTW is dedicated to building sustainable energy solutions by training local technicians and strengthening the capacity of regional service providers. Through long-term partnerships, we empower communities to achieve energy independence and a more sustainable future.

Headquartered in Calgary, Canada, we also operate a field office in Lima, Peru.

What We Do

From empowering local communities and schools with training and technical support in solar panel installation to providing sustainable energy solutions, our programs are diverse but driven by the same mission. We are also launching new pilot projects, including a computer lab and a solar thermal system to bring hot water to a remote community in the Andes for the first time.

How We Work

At LUTW, we take a unique approach to charity. We collaborate with the most remote communities to create sustainable and scalable programs that empower them to thrive.

Where We Work

In addition to our direct work in communities, we actively collaborate with partners, corporations, and development organizations to advocate for meaningful change and drive sustainable progress.
