At LUTW, we are driven, and deeply committed to our mission, because energy changes everything.
Our focus is on providing access to clean, renewable energy, reliable internet, and essential infrastructure such as street lighting. These solutions open up new opportunities for education, economic development, and safety. By improving living conditions and reducing health risks associated with indoor cooking, we help create more resilient and prosperous communities for the future.
From bringing sustainable energy to off-grid communities to providing hands-on training for future clean energy leaders, our programs are diverse but driven by the same mission: to empower underserved communities with reliable, renewable energy solutions. We believe that everyone deserves access to clean, safe, and sustainable power.
Through our initiatives, we install solar energy systems that enhance safety, create new economic opportunities, and provide access to technology. We also offer hands-on solar training for Canadian students, ensuring the next generation of clean energy professionals gains real-world experience while making a meaningful impact.
Our key Programs
Empower International Academic Solar Program
Providing Canadian students with hands-on solar training to build skills in renewable energy; and bringing no-cost solar installations to remote communities, improving safety and quality of life.
Empowerment Expedition Program
Join our General Solar Volunteer Program and gain hands-on experience in off-grid solar PV systems. Whether you’re a student, past volunteer, or passionate about sustainable energy, this is your chance to make a real impact in remote communities of the Peruvian Andes.
Technology Programs
Shared Solar and Sustainable Satellite High Speed Internet Project (Technology Initiative)
Developing and implementing community/shared solar and sustainable satellite high speed internet projects to maximize impact.
Connected Classrooms Initiative
Establishing computer labs with high-speed satellite internet to expand educational opportunities.
Solar Warmth Pilot (In development)
Conducting feasibility and design studies for solar-powered hot water systems in remote areas (starting February in 2025).
Where We Work
We bring sustainable energy solutions to the most remote and underserved communities in the Andes of Peru, ensuring no one is left in the dark. Through collaboration with local and international partners, and hands-on training programs, we empower communities with renewable energy and technology. As a growing solar energy charity, we aim to expand our impact globally, continuing the international work we began years ago in Africa.
