Papua New Guinea is a geographically and culturally diverse country with over 700 cultural groups residing in remote areas. Papua New Guineans have a low life expectancy and the country has a high rate of infant and maternal mortality. In many isolated villages around Papua New Guinea, the rural health care centres provide ‘front line’ health care. In honour of Captain Nichola Goddard, LUTW and partners have been installing solar PV systems in rural health care centres to support the delivery of health care services in Papua New Guinea since 2008.
Below are pictures and a map, which highlight recent and upcoming projects.
