Solar Volunteer in Peru
October 6-15, 2019
This is a great opportunity for individuals to join us in Peru and work alongside our staff and local communities on a solar project in the Andes. Volunteers have a unique opportunity to participate in a hands-on volunteer experience and help remote communities gain access to energy. Access to energy in vulnerable communities has far reaching impacts on health and safety in the home, enhanced opportunities for education and household income. Participants receive all the training necessary to have a full and meaningful experience in this unique part of the world while contributing to reducing energy poverty in rural Peru.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the planning and execution of our annual fundraiser – Dinner in The Dark! If you have experience in any of the following areas please contact us to learn more about becoming involved: marketing, sponsorship, volunteer management, design, event production and IT.
LUTW may offer local and field-based volunteer opportunities to qualified applicants. Knowing that volunteers and researchers have a vast and diverse set of skills to offer, LUTW aspires to best match talent with project needs. There is also the possibility of integrating volunteering with post-secondary degree requirements or as part of a research project. If you are interested in conducting research at the post graduate level, please contact us to discuss your ideas.
The Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP) brings Alberta’s nonprofit organizations and post-secondary students together to make a difference in their communities. LUTW has benefited from the talent of many interns attending post-secondary institutions in Alberta over the past few years. Students receive a $1000 bursary after fulfilling their internship requirements.
