LUTW has partnered with Solar Energy International (SEI) to provide grid-tied solar training courses in Alberta and Peru. If you would like more information about these courses below and have an interest in registering please email t.collins@lutw.org
PV101: Solar Training
Solar Electric Design and Installation (Grid-Direct)
Location: TBD (Canada or Peru)
Dates: TBD (40 hours)
Cost: $1,495

Starting with the fundamentals, students gain a solid understanding of various components, system architectures, and applications for PV systems. This course focuses on grid-direct PV systems, the largest and fastest growing segment of the PV industry, but covers material critical to understanding all types of PV systems.

PV202: Solar Training
Advanced PV System Design and the NEC (Grid-Direct)
Location: TBD (Canada or Peru)
Dates: TBD (40 hours)
Cost: $1,495

The focus in PV202 is on residential and commercial-scale systems, but the code requirements, design parameters, and best practices are applicable to all types and sizes of PV installations. Detailed lessons address requirements for disconnects, overcurrent protection, and wire sizing; interconnection requirements and calculations; grounding, ground-faults, and surge protection; calculations for system sizing, inverter selection, and electrical configuration; ground and roof mount details; and commissioning and performance analysis procedures.
