Get Involved: A Donation of Time and Energy

Volunteers are a treasured resource at Light Up The World (LUTW) who have invested their time in technical support, IT, training and research, administration, community awareness, as well as many other important areas. LUTW looks for self-motivated individuals with passion and enthusiasm who support our global lighting initiative, providing renewable energy solutions to the 1.6 billion people in the developing world without access to electricity. In return, we commit to providing a fun, engaging, diverse, challenging and supportive volunteer environment.

Our Commitment

LUTW will:

• Provide orientation and training
• Recognize volunteers for dedication and commitment
• Offer a great learning experience and the opportunity to work with experts in the field
• Provide an environment that encourages volunteers to contribute their skills
• Ensure volunteers are kept up to date on LUTW’s progress
• Respond to each new volunteer; where there is not an obvious or current fit, we will be honest.

Volunteers will:

• Embrace LUTW’s mission and vision
• Conduct their activities in keeping with LUTW’s values
• Provide LUTW with feedback where needed
